Raue Center School for the Arts Announces Expansion, Fun New Classes!

To accommodate record class participation and interest in its School for the Arts, Raue Center is announcing its expansion into new educational space at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Crystal Lake. The move, due to the generous support of the community, firmly cements Raue’s commitment to the community and to creating a diverse and inclusive environment for the youth of McHenry County.

Raue Center will welcome Jess Urban as Education Administrator to help with the transition and to lead the School for the Arts through its continued development and growth. She will also serve as a production liaison.

RCSA will offer a fantastic summer camp program consisting of four individual weeks that will introduce young students to all aspects of live performance! The program, taught by professional Chicagoland actors and technicians, will take place June 6 - July 29; each weekly session will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a new and exciting theme. A wrap-up performance will take place on Raue Center’s outdoor green space at St. Mary’s. Students can enroll for one week or up to all four!

A camp for grades K-1 will be offered July 11-15 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Raue’s youngest stars will play games, learn songs and dances, and experience theatre in a fun summer camp environment! Enrollment ends May 27, 2022.

RCSA On Stage will celebrate the world of Dr. Seuss with Seussical Kids (grades 2-5), running June 20 - July 9, and Seussical Jr., running June 20 - July 15 for grades 6 and up! In-person enrollment is March 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Raue Center. The enrollment deadline is June 3, 2022.

RCSA’s High School Musical Theatre Workshop, a two-week intensive musical theatre program for students ages 15-18, will explore all aspects of classic and modern musical theatre. The workshop culminates in an evening showcase on the Raue stage!
