VAC McHenry Requests Community Input on Veterans’ Needs and Priorities

Veterans Assistance Commission - VAC McHenry Requests Community Input on Veterans’ Needs and Priorities

The Veterans Assistance Commission (VAC) of McHenry County is dedicated to supporting local veterans and their families through a variety of essential services. To ensure that these efforts continue to meet the evolving needs of the veteran community, the VAC is reaching out to the public for input on potential service gaps and priorities.

The VAC provides a range of programs designed to assist veterans, including financial aid, transportation to VA medical appointments, and help with accessing VA benefits. The commission also offers emergency assistance for housing, utilities, and food, ensuring that veterans and their families have access to basic necessities. Additionally, the VAC works to connect veterans with employment resources and community support networks to enhance their quality of life.

As part of its ongoing commitment to serving the community, the VAC is seeking feedback to identify areas where additional services or improvements may be needed. This outreach aims to better understand the challenges faced by local veterans and their families, including housing stability, mental health support, employment opportunities, and other critical areas.

“We want to ensure that no veteran in our community is left without the support they need,” said Mike Iwanicki, Superintendent of the VAC of McHenry County. “Your input helps us shape our programs and allocate resources effectively to make the greatest impact.”

The public is encouraged to share their thoughts and suggestions with the VAC, whether they are veterans themselves, family members, or community advocates. To provide feedback, visit the VAC McHenry County website or contact the office directly.

Your voice matters. By sharing your perspective, you can help the VAC continue its mission of honoring and assisting those who have served our nation. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of veterans and their families.
