McHenry's Brian Rockweiler is the 2025 Northwest Herald Baseball Coach of the Year after leading the Warriors to a record-breaking season that ended with a runner-up finish in the Class 4A state tournament.
Senior pitcher Brandon Shannon and McHenry enjoyed a historic season. Shannon set school records for career wins and single-season strikeouts and led the Warriors to a second-place finish at state. Shannon is the 2025 Northwest Herald Baseball Player of the Year.
Scott Busam helped lead Prairie Ridge to a historic season. The Wolves won their first Fox Valley Conference championship since 2016 and advanced to the Class 3A state semifinals for the first time. Busam is the 2025 Northwest Herald Softball Coach of the Year.
Prairie Ridge junior right-handed pitcher Reese Mosolino found another gear in the postseason, tossing five shutouts in seven games and leading the Wolves to their best season ever. Mosolino is the 2025 Northwest Herald Softball Player of the Year.
Huntley head coach Matt Lewandowski led his team to a historic season where the Red Raiders won their first Fox Valley Conference title since 2015. For his efforts, Lewandowski was named the Northwest Herald's Girls Soccer Coach of the Year.
Huntley junior Maizie Nickle made the most of her first healthy season this spring to help lead the Red Raiders to a historic season. For her efforts, Nickle was named the 2025 Northwest Herald Girls Soccer Player of the Year.
