Sectional action at the Blackhawk Center Friday and Saturday

Senior forward Darius Harrington became Dixon's new all-time leading scorer after passing Beau Bailey with a 25-point performance in a 62-40 win over Oregon on Tuesday at the Blackhawk Center.

The first time Dixon played Byron at Lancaster Gym this season, the Duchesses fell behind early and never found their rhythm. But they turned the tables on the Tigers on Saturday, using a smothering defense and a controlled offense to pick up a 47-36 Big Northern Conference win.

Lots of energy and aggressiveness on both ends of the court set the tone for Dixon on Thursday night at the Blackhawk Center.

In a nonconference match between two teams working several new faces into the lineup and trying to find their footing early in the season, Oregon came up with the surges when it needed to in a 25-11, 25-16 win over Newman on Thursday night at the Blackhawk Center.
