FORRESTON – Five Forreston High School student athletes are planning on taking their volleyball and softball skills to the next level.
Jaiden Schneiderman, daughter of Nick and Andrea Schneiderman, signed a letter of intent to participate on the volleyball team at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Jaiden has been a four-year varsity starter on the volleyball team at Forreston High School. She earned team offensive player of the year all four years and all-conference volleyball honors in 2021 (second team) and first team unanimous selections in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
She set the single game records this year with most kills, 28 and the single season kill percentage 47.9%.
Her career records include most career kills, 1,655; career kill percentage, 43.8%; and career aces, 147. Her career record kill, 1,655 placed her 10th in the IHSA Volleyball All-Time records.
Four Cardinal softball players Aspen Niesman, McKenna Rummel, Isabella Thiel, and Chloe Weegens will participate on the softball team at Sauk Valley Community College.
Aspen, the daughter of Shatara Zimmerman has played softball for four years at Forreston High School. She plans to become a radiology technician.
McKenna, the daughter of Michael Rummel and Krista Smith, has played varsity softball for four years at Forreston High School. McKenna earned Second Team All-Conference honors in 2024 and Most Improved Offensive Player team honors. She plans to major in Ag Business.
Isabella, the daughter of Chris and Becky Thiel, has been a four year softball player and plans to pursue a degree in nursing.
Chloe, the daughter of David and Terri Weegens, has played softball four years, earning the team Cardinal Heart/Hustle Award in 2024. Chloe also plans to pursue a degree in nursing.
The administration, coaches and student athletes of Forreston Jr/Sr High School congratulate each of the students on their accomplishments and offer their best wishes for a successful academic and athletic careers, school officials said in a press release.
