On his birthday, here’s a look at Reagan by the numbers

Ronald Wilson Reagan, who was born Feb. 6, 1911 in Tampico, grew up in Dixon and died June 5, 2004, in Bel Air in California at the age of 93, was the 40th president of the United States from 1981 to 1989. Prior to his presidency, he was a Hollywood actor and union leader before serving as the 33rd governor of California from 1967 to 1975.

Today marks Reagan’s 110th birthday, and I prepared the following birthday curiosities in his honor:

1. If numbers 1 through 26 are assigned to letters A through Z, the letter numbers of Ronald Reagan add up to 110.

2. Further, the 110th prime number is 601 and interestingly, twice 601 equals 1202,the reverse of 2021, the year number of Reagan’s 110th birthday.

3. Reagan’s birthday coincides with the 37th day of each year and 37 plus its reverse, 73, yields 110.

4. The 37th prime number is 157 and coincidentally, Reagan died on the 157th day of 2004 (June 5, 2004).

5. The product of the left and right halves of Reagan’s birth year, 1911,equals 19 x 11 = 209 and 209 is the number of days left in 2004 after Reagan’s death.

6. The sum of the letter numbers of Ronald Wilson Reagan equals 202 and twice the sum of the prime factors of 202 yields 2x(2+101)=206, Reagan’s birth date (2/06).

7. Lastly, Reagan’s 111th birthday to occur next year will be special, too, for at least two reasons: 111 divided by the sum of its digits, namely 3, equals 37 and the 37th day of each year is Reagan’s birthday. Additionally, the prime factors of 111 add up to 3+37=40, the number of Reagan’s presidency.

Happy 110th birthday to President Ronald Reagan!
