Rock Falls boys improve to 5-0: Monday’s Sauk Valley roundup

Boys basketball

Rock Falls 76, Putnam County 43: The Rockets are 5-0 after picking up their first win of the Colmone Classic on Monday at Hall. Timmy Heald led the way with 26 points, Ryken Howard scored 14, and Neo Menedez scored 11 in the win.

Somonauk 44, Amboy 43: The Clippers fell just short as Eddie Jones scored 17 points and Brody Christofferen added 11 for Amboy (2-2)

Girls basketball

Newman 74, Orion 52: Brooklyn Smith hit five 3-pointers to lead the Comets’ offensive explosion with 18 points. Elaina Allen scored 14, Lucy Oetting had 13, and Helen Papoccia chipped in 11 for Newman.

Orangeville 48, Eastland 30: Olivia Klinefelter led Eastland with 11 points, five rebounds and five assists in the loss.

Bureau Valley 45, ROWVA 37: The Storm were led by Libby Endress (11 points) and Brooke Helms (10) in the win.

Polo 57, Durand 14: Carlee Grobe and Camrynn Jones each scored 12 points for Polo, and Leah Tobin added 10 in the win.

Rockridge 25, Erie-Prophetstown 21: Lauren Abbot was E-P’s high scorer with six points.

Boys bowling

Dixon 3,514, Rochelle 3,049: Dixon’s Cody Geil had a high series of 647, and Wyatt Miller’s 259 was the high game for the Dukes (4-0).

DeKalb 3,104, Sterling 2,677: Connor Jagitsch led Sterling with a 480 series on senior day, with classmate Nate Lobdell’s 456 second best.

Girls bowling

Sterling 3,444, Moline 3,300: Sterling sophomore Sarah Doughty led the dual win with a 596 series and 257 high game.

Dixon 2,778, Rochelle 2,365: Autumn Swift led Dixon with a 524 series, and Madelyn Bird and Addison Cox each rolled a 201 high game.
