SVCC dominates All-Arrowhead selections: The All-Arrowhead Conference women’s volleyball selections were announced, with West Carroll High School graduate Lacey Eissens of Sauk Valley Community College named MVP.

Joining her on the all-conference team are teammates Jess Johns (Newman Central Catholic), Maggie Richetta (Putnam County HS) and Ava Wight (Oregon HS).

SVCC coach Jay Howell also was named Arrowhead Conference Coach of the Year after leading the Skyhawks to a 10-0 record in conference play.

Eissens, a sophomore outside hitter, led the team with 541 kills (4.1 kills per set), 575.5 points (4.4 per set) and a .282 hitting percentage.

Johns, a freshman OH, was second on the team with 2.98 kills per set and 2.44 digs per set. Wight, a sophomore defensive specialist, led the team with 673 digs (4.95 per set) and 58 aces.

Forreston grad Brooke Boettner, a Highland CC sophomore setter, also was selected. She led the team with 797 assists at 6.81 per set.

The rest of the All-Arrowhead team includes Highland’s Kaidynce Lynch; Carl Sandburg’s Taylor Wagner, Natalie Burden, Madeline Mooney, Grace Vyhnanek and Ayla Cannon; and Black Hawk’s Shannon Kenneavy.
