Sterling native Lexi Rodriguez helps Nebraska volleyball to Final Four

Sterlingโ€™s Rodriguez, Nebraska on to Final Four: Sterling High School graduate Lexi Rodriguez had a match-high 17 digs as No. 3 Nebraska swept Wisconsin 26-24, 25-17, 25-21 on Sunday to advance to the NCAA semifinals for the second straight year.

Rodriguez has 265 career digs in the NCAA tournament, the most in Nebraska history. She was one of four Cornhuskers named to the NCAA Lincoln Regional All-Tournament Team.

Rodriguez also was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association as the West Region Player of the Year.

She has 1,882 career digs, second only to Justine Wong-Orantes' school record of 1,890.

Nebraska faces Penn State at 8 p.m. Thursday on ESPN. Louisville plays Pittsburgh at 5:30 p.m. in the other semifinal.
