Genoa-Kingston 68, Newman 66: George Jungerman scored a game-high 24 points for Newman, which was unable to overcome a 22-12 deficit after the first quarter at the Forreston tournament. The Comets were the top seed and move on to play for fifth. They next face Oregon on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Byron 54, Oregon 42: Benny Olalde and Kade Girton each scored 10 points for Oregon in the loss at the Forreston tournament. The Hawks were outscored 18-7 in the second quarter.
Stockton 55, Ashton-Franklin Center 34: The Raiders were outscored 20-4 in the fourth quarter in the loss at the Forreston tournament.
Orion 74, Morrison 59: Kyler Owens led Orion with 35 points as Brayden Rubright’s 24 points led Morrison. Asher Ernst scored 16 and Dawson Hepner added 12 for the Mustangs in the loss.
East Dubuque 67, West Carroll 29: West Carroll fell to 0-3 at the Eastland tournament.
Girls basketball
Rock Falls 42, West Carroll 39: Miley Bickett hit five 3-pointers and led the Rockets with 27 points in the win at the Polo tournament. Caitlyn Stingley had 20 points for West Carroll, which was outscored 8-7 in the fourth quarter.
Milledgeville 33, Forreston 15: The Missiles bounced back with a win at the Polo tournament.
Mercer County 61, Bureau Valley 59 (OT): Libby Endress had 27 points for BV in the close loss. Maddie Wetzell also had 11 points for the Storm.
Oregon 39, Morrison 24: Ella Dannhorn led Oregon with 15 points in the win.

Dixon 3,725, Rock Island 3,003: Wyatt Miller stayed hot, leading the Dukes with a 698 series in the win. Sam Gingras bowled a 638.
Oregon 3,525, Rockford Christian 2,685: The Hawks improved to 11-1 on the season as Gavvin Surmo led the team with a 637 series.
Moline 3,461, Sterling 2,735: Byce Kooy led Sterling with a 520 in the loss.
