UScellular donates $1,500 worth of sports equipment to Dixon’s Al Morrison Baseball League

Al Morrison Baseball League leaders were in awe Tuesday when a semi pulled into Dixon's Borden Field with $1,500 worth of sports equipment donated by UScellular as part of its “Gift of Connection” program. The truck was full of brand new bases for their baseball complex.

DIXON – UScellular is giving back to the Dixon community this holiday season by donating $1,500 worth of sports equipment to support Al Morrison’s volunteer-based baseball league.

The league has 400 to 600 players during the summer and fall seasons, averaging 35 to 40 teams, all with volunteer coaches and assistants.

This donation, part of UScellular’s “Gift of Connection” program, includes brand-new bases for the baseball complex.

As part of UScellular’s “Gift of Connection” program, the donation to Al Morrison Baseball League is one of 50 gifts to nonprofits across the country. The company is helping organizations by providing needed supplies for groups dedicated to building connection through art, music and sports in their local communities.

“We’re proud to provide Al Morrison Baseball League with a donation of sport equipment as they continue to be a pillar of support for the Dixon community,” said Marlon Bailey, director of sales at UScellular in northern Illinois and Wisconsin. “Giving back is a part of UScellular’s commitment to connect people to what matters most, and we’re honored to give the gift of connection this holiday season.”

UScellular also is inviting community members to participate in the Gift of Connection through a donation drive at select UScellular retail locations.

Everyone is encouraged to donate new sports equipment, art supplies or family board games that will be given to a local nonprofit. Customers who donate will receive 20% off an accessory of their choice. Go to uscellular.com/store-locator to find a nearby location.
