Dixon Habitat dedicates newest home

Megin Steeb shows off her new Bible that comes with every new Dixon Habitat for Humanity dedication. Steeb took ownership of the home on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024.

Dixon Habitat for Humanity turned over the keys Sunday to its newest homeowner, Megin Steeb and daughter, Mackenna Muhammad, 12.

Board members, volunteers and well-wishers attended Sunday’s dedication as the new family received their keys, a Bible and a blessing of the home. The house was mostly bare, but a large moving truck outside rolled into place as friends started to bring in the home’s furnishings. Habitat is seeing a bit of turnover as key, longtime members of the group are retiring, but plans for the next home are in place and will continue onward.
