DIXON — Dabney Services is a towing, recovery and repair business in Dixon specializing in oversized vehicles, including commercial trucks, farm equipment and oversized loads.
Owner Brian Dabney said the business also has a repair shop capable of fixing most commercial and non-commercial vehicles and equipment. It also offers mobile repairs.
“We have two service trucks that are well outfitted and we will pretty much do anything,” Dabney said. “We’re such a big agricultural community and it’s always something I wanted to try. But if I was going to do it, I wanted to be able to do anything and everything somebody could throw at us.”
Trucking courses through owner Brian Dabney’s veins like diesel through a fuel line.
Dabney’s father started Walters Trucking Company with a partner in the 1970s. Brian started Dabney Trucking in 2005 after graduating from Bradley University in Peoria and bought his father’s company in 2018.
Dabney still runs and operates both businesses as separate entities. He moved to Dixon in 2019 and began operating Dabney Services in 2022.
“Then in 2023, my wife and I bought the Stables Bar,” Dabney said. “Then, last January, I bought Seneca Interstate Towing in La Salle. I have a partner down there. So, we have two trucking companies, two towing companies and a bar.”
Dabney Services is located at 607 Willet Ave. in Dixon and provides towing and recovery services throughout parts of northwestern Illinois, including in and around Dixon, Sterling, Rock Falls, Amboy, Polo, Oregon, Mt. Morris, Rochelle, Manlius, Lanark, Mendota, Sublette, Princeton and Sheffield.
