Newman 57, Amboy 37: George Jungerman led the Comets (8-9) with 17 points, Garrett Matznick scored 14, and John Rowzee had 12 in the win Monday.

Ezra Parker led Amboy with 16 points as only four Clippers scored in the loss.

Dixon 56, Geneseo 25: Darius Harrington scored a game-high 26 points as the Dukes improved to 12-3 with the road win.

Girls basketball

Kewanee 49, Newman 42: Gisselle Martin had a game-high 20 points with seven rebounds, four assists and six steals, but the Comets (13-5, 1-1 TRAC East) fell short on the road in the conference matchup. Elaina Allen and Lucy Oetting were second on the team with seven points apiece.

Pearl City 52, West Carroll 44: Danica Stager scored a game-high 23 points for PC in the win. Caitlyn Stingley led West Carroll with 18 points, and Emma Randecker scored 10 in the road loss.

Rock Island 3,133, Sterling 2,937: Sterling lost at Backyard Bowl in Milan in a Western Big 6 Conference dual matchup. Bryce Kooy led Sterling with a 516 series.

Girls bowling

Moline 3,379, Dixon 3,184: Addison Cox led Dixon with a 517 series and high game of 192 in the dual loss.
