Kuitim Heald scores 25 in Rock Falls basketball win: Wednesday’s Sauk Valley roundup

Boys basketball

Rock Falls 75, Genoa-Kingston 65: Kuitim Heald scored 25 points in the bounce back win for the Rockets (11-5). Ryken Howard added 20 points for Rock Falls.

Newman 67, Alleman 47: George Jungerman (16 points), Evan Bushman (14) and Garrett Matznick (14) led the offense in the home win. The Comets (9-9) led 44-24 at halftime.

Oak Forest 54, Dixon 49: Darius Harrington scored 24 points but the Dukes (12-4) fell short to snap an 18-game home winning streak.

Girls basketball

Polo 53, Ashton-Franklin Center 23: Carlee Grobe led Polo (9-5) with 17 points, Camrynn Jones had 14 points and 12 assists and Laynie Mandrell scored 12 in the win. Reese Polk had 10 points for AFC.

Oregon 52, West Carroll 28: The Hawks (8-9) were led by Aniyah Sarver’s 15 points in the win and Ella Dannhorn scored 10. Emma Randecker had 11 points for WC (3-10).

Eastland 61, Milledgeville 15: The Cougars were led by Sienna Peterson (13 points), Olivia Klinefelter (13) and Tatum Grim (12) in the win.

Boys wrestling

Sterling falls on senior night: The Golden Warriors were edged by Rock Falls 41-36 in the dual loss.

Polo wins two: Polo beat Stillman Valley 42-24 and Somonauk 48-12 in dual action. Lucas Nelson had two pins at 138 pounds and Kaenyn McCarren had two pins at 157.

Mustangs win two: Morrison beat Putnam County 72-12 and Riverdale 45-36. Landon Rubright had a pin and a decision win and Noah Stout had two pins for the Mustangs.
