DIXON – Midland States Bank has been named a finalist for “Best Initiative to Promote Financial Inclusion” at the 2024 Future Branches Innovators Awards.
The national award honors financial institutions for their efforts to help unbanked and underbanked individuals, and those facing financial hardship, and for implementing innovative programs or products aimed to expand access to financial services. Midland was among four finalists selected for its ongoing commitment to financial inclusion through its Community Impact Investment Statement.
“We are honored to be recognized as a finalist among such innovative leaders in the banking industry,” Midland President Jeff Mefford said. “This acknowledgment underlines our dedication to making financial resources more accessible to the communities we serve.”
Midland’s CIIS is the foundation for its community-focused initiatives, including Financial Empowerment Booths, Community Partnership Days and collaborations with local nonprofit organizations to increase access to banking services.
“This recognition reflects the collaborative dedication and creativity of our entire Midland team,” Midland’s Director of Community Economic Development Martesha Brown said. “We’re honored to be recognized for innovation in driving meaningful change and empowering individuals and communities to thrive across Illinois and St. Louis.”
The awards were presented at the Future Branches Conference in Austin and hosted by Worldwide Business Research. The conference highlights transformative ideas and initiatives within the banking industry.
