Performing Arts Guild presents ‘Christmas Eve in Chaos’ in Mt. Morris

Morgan McConnell, a regular presence on Performing Arts Guild stages, is the writer and director of this year’s PAG performance titled “Christmas Eve in Chaos.”

Inspired by a friend’s writing of a book, McConnell put pen to paper himself to come up with this comedy about “middle-American family Christmas chaos with an unexpected visit from Santa.”

One of the challenges McConnell faced along with writing and directing was “doing the outline, creating the characters, creating the family, the event, the sound, the props, then standing here and watching them bring the characters to life before getting up there and having to switch,“ he said.

Tickets are still available to check out McConnell’s debut playwriting. Performance dates are Jan. 10 and 11 at 7 p.m. and Jan. 12 at 2 p.m.
