Sterling High School graduate Grace Egan is transferring from Ohio State to Wisconsin for volleyball.

As a redshirt freshman in 2024, she had a career-high 22 kills against the Badgers. She had 10 or more kills in nine matches and six matches with 10 or more digs. She had four double-doubles. She played in 18 sets in 2023 before a season-ending injury.

“Grace is an exciting athlete and competitor who is just starting to scratch the surface of what she can become,” Badgers coach Kelly Sheffield said. “She’s missed a lot of matches her first two seasons due to injury but is healthy and ready to go.

“We saw firsthand her skill and competitive drive when we played against her in our last weekend of the regular season. She can get on the ball fast and has good touch on the ball when she passes.”

The outside hitter played in 22 matches last season with a total of 200 kills, 2.53 kills per set. She also had 18 service aces, 2.03 digs per set and 0.46 blocks per set.

Egan will be joining the Badgers this spring. Wisconsin went 26-7 and 17-3 in the Big Ten last season before falling to Nebraska in the NCAA tournament quarterfinals.

At Sterling, Egan was the Sauk Valley Volleyball Player of the Year and a two-time all-state selection.
