DIXON — Kohl’s has announced it is closing 27 under-performing locations in 15 states by April, a small fraction of its 1,150 store base, as the struggling department store chain aims to boost profitability and improve sagging sales.
The Sterling Kohl’s store will not be closing but two Kohl’s department stores in Illinois will be: Kohl’s in Plainfield and Kohl’s Spring Hill in West Dundee.
Kohl’s declined to disclose the number of employees affected by the announcement.
