Dixon 60, Eastland 35: Reese Dambman hit five 3-pointers to score a game-high 21 points for Dixon. Ahmyrie McGowan added 12 points for the Duchesses. Olivia Klinefelter led Eastland with 15 points and Sienna Peterson added 13.
Dixon also beat Marengo 66-23.
Freeport 62, Eastland 50: Klinefelter led Eastland (9-14) with 20 points and Morgan McCullough had 13 in the loss.
Sterling splits two in Byron: The Golden Warriors went to 19-4 after beating Harlem 74-39 and falling short to Lutheran 52-50. They next play Kaneland and Byron on Monday.
Kewanee 49, Oregon 38: Aniyah Sarver led Oregon with 14 points in the home setback.
Bureau Valley 52, West Central 41: BV hit 12 3-pointers as Emma Mussche and Brooke Helms each scored nine points in the win.
Riverdale 54, Polo 44: Camrynn Jones had a game-high 29 points with five assists, but the Marcos fell short.
Boys bowling
Oregon advances: Oregon tallied a 6,249 to take second at the Harlem Regional and advance to the sectional round. Harlem (6,449) took first with Hononegah (6,172) in third and Dakota (6,071) fourth. The Hawks were led by Matthew Stahl (1,330), Gavvin Surmo (1,298), RJ Keene (1,276) and Ethan Smice (1,197). Stahl took second and Surmo was fourth individually for the day.
Girls bowling
Sterling wins Moline invite: Sarah Doughty was the individual champion with a 1,230 six-game series and 237 high game to help the Golden Warriors take first. Kara Garcia (1,018), Hailey Conderman (970) and Phinley Wright (910) also contributed six games.
Boys basketball
Newman 80, River Ridge 52: Evan Bushman scored 29 points and George Jungerman added 22 in the Comets' win.
Eastland 55, Hinckley-Big Rock 21: Peyton Spears led the way with 17 points and Parker Krogman scored 15 for Eastland in the win.
Eastland 62, Rockford Christian 51: Krogman had 23 points, Adam Awender scored 16 and Spears had 15 for the Cougars.
Rock Falls 76, Mercer County 65: Kuitim Heald had 28 points, Ryken Howard scored 11 and Cole Mulnix had 10 in the road win.
Riverdale 54, Fulton 37: Jace Bielenberg led Fulton (9-11) with 15 points in the shootout loss at Wharton Field House.
Boys swimming
Sterling sixth at Jefferson invite: Sterling had two fifth-place relays and tallied 93 points as a team to take sixth at the 15-team J-Hawk invite. Patrick Riley, Colin Askegaard, Lucas Porter and Conner Porter took fifth in the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay.
Boys wrestling
Kewanee invite: Morrison tallied 231 points to finish second to the Boilermakers (237.5). Fulton (129.5) was fourth and Polo (62) took 11th among 17 scoring teams. Area champions included Morrison’s Cael Wright (106 pounds), Levi Milder (157), Brady Anderson (165) and Noah Stout (175) and Polo’s Lucas Nelson (138). Nelson was also named the lower weight outstanding wrestler of the tournament.
