Boys basketball

Newman 82, Morrison 63: George Jungerman had 22 points, Garret Matznick had 21 and John Rowzee scored 20 in Newman’s home win. The Comets had 11 3-pointers in the victory. Brayden Rubright led the Mustangs with 17 points, Colton Bielema had 11 and Asher Ernst had 10.

Girls basketball

Rockford Auburn 34, Dixon 33: Trailing 25-21 after three quarters, Dixon fell short in the low-scoring contest. Hallie Williamson led Dixon, tied for 10th in the latest Associated Press Class 3A rankings, with 13 points. Ahmyrie McGowan added 11 points and Reese Dambman had seven in the setback.

Oregon 60, Fulton 52 (OT): Aniyah Sarver led Oregon with 16 points and Ella Dannhorn scored six of her 14 in overtime in the home win. Breleigh Hayton’s 14 points led Fulton, which outscored Oregon 18-10 in the fourth to force extra time tied at 46.

Eastland 55, Ashton-Franklin Center 20: Olivia Klinefelter had a triple double with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 10 steals in the win for Eastland (10-14, 6-1). Tatum Grim added 10 points and four assists in the victory.

Pecatonica 49, Forreston 15: Alice Kobler led Forreston with 10 points in the setback.

Boys wrestling

Morrison wins two: Morrison beat Orion 43-36 and St. Bede 63-16 in dual action. Noah Stout and Brady Anderson each had a pin and a technical fall for Morrison and Caleb Modglin had two pins for the Mustangs.
