Amboy graduate and Illinois Wesleyan senior Mallory Powers earned the first national recognition of her career after she was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week Monday night. She is the ninth individual to earn the award in program history.
The award came not long after she was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.

Powers averaged 19 points, 6.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game in two wins last week for the second-ranked Titans, who are 18-0 and 9-0 in conference play. It is their best start to a season since the 2009-10 campaign.
Powers was 13 of 21 from the field, 8 of 12 from beyond the arc and 4 of 5 at the free-throw line. She scored a career-high 21 points with 10 rebounds against Millikin on Jan. 22, recording the fifth double-double of her career. She also tied a career high with five 3-pointers in a win over Wheaton on Jan. 25, scoring 17 points with six boards, seven assists, two steals and a block in 28 minutes.
Powers and the Titans next play Saturday at Elmhurst University.
