DIXON — A Dixon man has been sentenced to more than four years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Dalton J. Delhotal, 29, pleaded guilty to the charge Tuesday, Feb. 4, in Lee County Circuit Court. Four additional charges of criminal sexual assault, all Class 1 felonies, were dismissed as part of a plea deal.
Delhotal was charged with the offenses in January 2023.
According to court documents, two of the criminal sexual assault charges accused him of using force or the threat of force to sexually assault a woman in April 2022 and June 2022.
The other two criminal sexual assault charges accuse him of sexually assaulting the same woman, when she was unconscious, in April 2022 and again in June 2022.
The charges were amended Tuesday to add the one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony, to the roster of charges, according to court documents.
Under the plea deal, Delhotal was sentenced to four years and eight months in prison and must serve 50% of the sentence. He was given credit for 724 days already spent in custody. He must submit to DNA testing, will be deemed a sex offender and will serve one year of mandatory supervised release after his prison term. He also is to pay $42,420 in fines and fees, according to court documents.
He also was sentenced to 180 days in the Lee County Jail for his guilty plea in violating an order of protection in April 2023.
The plea comes one month before his trial was set to start in Lee County Circuit Court. He will begin serving his sentence at the Stateville Correctional Center.
