Dixon 48, Yorkville Christian 38: The Duchesses led 12-4 after the first quarter in the road win. Reese Dambman led the team with 21 points, Morgan Hargrave scored 13 and Ahmyie McGowan had 10.
Stillman Valley 56, Newman 44: The Comets fell on the road to the No. 2 team in the Class 2A Associated Press poll after trailing 33-18 at halftime. Gisselle Martin led Newman with 15 points and Elaina Allen had 10 in the loss.
Erie-Prophetstown 42, Morrison 37: Camryn Veltrop scored 18 points for the Fillies in the road setback.
Annawan 43, Bureau Valley 36: The Storm kept things close but fell short down the stretch in the road loss. Bella Birkey led BV with nine points, Libby Endress scored eight and Brooke Helms had six.
Girls bowling
Sterling second at Big 6 meet: The Golden Warriors took second to Rock Island at the Western Big 6 Conference meet at Galesburg with a 5,134 total. Sarah Doughty earned all-conference with a 1,238 series and second-place finish. Olivia Barton rolled a 1,038 and Phinley Wright added a 1,032 for Sterling.
Dixon 2,829, Dakota 2,288: Addison Cox led the Duchesses (11-3) with a 576 series and 210 high game. Dixon hosts Rock Island on senior night Thursday before Friday’s regional.
