Advancing: The top four teams and top 10 individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the Oregon Sectional on Saturday, Feb. 15.

FYI: Sterling sophomore Sarah Doughty looks to be the top local competitor as she is coming off a second-place finish at the Western Big 6 Conference meet, rolling a 1,238 six-game series. Doughty is also the defending regional champion, taking last year’s top score with a 1,369. Sterling also advanced to the sectional as a team after taking second with a 5,297.

The Golden Warriors, who went 12-1 in dual meets this season, were second to Rock Island at the Big 6 meet. Sterling also won the Dixon Invitational on Feb. 1 at Plum Hollow with a 5,161 total; it was the first time Sterling won the tournament in its 48-year history. Doughty was the individual champion with a 1,317 series, 676 three-game series and 268 high game. Hailey Conderman took 10th with an 1,109; Phinley Wright (956) and Kara Garcia (962) were also above 900 for Sterling.

Addison Cox led Dixon with an 1,108 at the Dixon Invitational with Madolynn Kirby (1,085) and Autumn Swift (1,084) also eclipsing 1,000 pins. Oregon was led by Savannah Nagy (995), Katy Miller (942) and Carli Bailey (920). Ysabell Hamm (964) and Lillian McWilliams (939) had E-P’s high scores at the same invite.
