Boys wrestling
Oregon regional: Oregon tallied 251 points at the Class 1A Byron Regional as Lena-Winslow (210.5) was runner-up. West Carroll (94.5) took fifth as the only other area team competing.
Winning titles for the Hawks were Isaiah Perez at 120 pounds, Preston LaBay at 126, Nelson Benesh at 132 and Levi Benton at 138.
Also on the podium for the Hawks were Jordan Lowe (third) at 106, Josiah Perez (second) at 113, Jackson Messenger (third) at 144, Jay den Berry (third) at 150, Ethan Mowry (third) at 157, Andrew Young (second) at 175, Seth Rote (second) at 190 and Briggs Sellers (third) at 285. Landen Elder took fourth for Oregon at 215.
For West Carroll, Noah Rannow (third at 113), Jack McIntyre (third at 120), Connor Knop (second at 144) and Jonner Smith (second at 150) advanced to the Oregon Sectional.
Boys basketball
Wheaton South 61, Sterling 51: The Warriors (13-14) were outscored 33-20 in the middle quarters in the nonconference home loss. Kaedon Phillips led Sterling with 20 points and Maddux Osborn had 12.
Forreston 70, Morrison 49: Mickey Probst led the Cardinals with 28 points, and Kendall Erdmann scored 26 in the home win. Erdmann, a junior, eclipsed 1,000 career points in the game.
Asher Ernst led the Mustangs with 23 points
St. Bede 61, Amboy 52 (OT): Eddie Jones stayed hot with a game-high 25 points but the Clippers fell short in overime.
Polo 55, Orangeville 52: Gus Mumford scored 29 points and J.T. Stephenson had 12 in the home win. Mumford was 6 of 12 at the line in the fourth quarter as Polo held on.
Girls basketball
Ashton-Franklin Center 47, Hiawatha 22: Audree Dorn scored 18 points on her senior night in the A-FC home win. She hit two of her five 3-pointers in the first quarter as the Raiders led 12-6. Drew Dawson also had nine points for the Raiders.
Oregon 54, Rock Falls 20: Sarah Eckhardt, Noelle Girton and Aniyah Sarver each scored 10 points for the Hawks in the win. Miley Bickett led the Rockets with 11 points.
Polo 67, Hinckley Big Rock 64 (OT): Camrynn Jones had a career-high 37 points to go with 11 rebounds and eight assists on a day when she was recognized for surpassing 1,000 career points this season. She had all five of the Marcos' points in overtime.
Boys swimming
Sterling second at Big 6 meet: In Moline, the Warriors tallied 237 points at the Western Big 6 Conference Meet to take second behind Galesburg (343). Sterling was runner-up in the 200-yard medley, 200 free relay and 400 free relays.
Individually, Conner Porter took second in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, and Patrick Riley was runner-up in the 100 backstroke.
