Athletics director, girls soccer positions open at Dixon High School

DIXON — The promotion of Jared Shaner to principal was one of several changes in personnel the Dixon Public Schools board of education acted on Wednesday.

Mahmoud Etemadi resigned as girls soccer coach. He has been coach since 2002-03. The Illinois High School Association table of yearly results puts his won-loss-tie record at 214-102-18. He also served as boys soccer coach from 2002 to 2014.

The district posted both the athletics director/assistant principal position that Shaner will vacate and the girls soccer coaching position on its website.

There was one other coaching resignation, Trese McNinch, as girls basketball coach at Reagan Middle School.

The board approved stipends for the following coaches and advisers: Josilyn Foster, girls basketball coach at Reagan Middle School; Karen Kaufman, group interpretation and drama musicals; Mardi Huffstutler, vocal music; Dee Dee Cibu, faculty adviser musical; Ryan Hoffman, band musical; and Ben Lightner, producer musical.

Keely Dewey was made elementary special education facilitator.

Assignments changed for two full-time custodians: Wes Phillips moved from Washington School to Reagan MIddle and Rod Garman moved from Dixon High to Washington School.

The board also approved new hires: Kendra Ridenhour as lunchroom attendant at Reagan Middle, Annie Bettenhausen as health assistant at Reagan Middle, Brandi Conley as paraprofessional at Washington, Jeff Munson as custodian at Dixon High and Heather Dingley as evening custodian at Madison.
