Amboy Buddy Bag program requests donations

AMBOY — Monetary donations are being requested to address increased demand for student supplemental food supplies through the Amboy Buddy Bag Program.

Since the start of the 2021 school year, the number of take-home food bags prepared by Immanuel Lutheran Church in Amboy has increased 41%. It costs $1,000 per month to provide supplies for the take-home bags.

Not only are 62 take-home bags prepared for each weekend, the increase in the cost of food items has depleted inventory for this food mission.
