After leading most of the game, the Dixon boys basketball team fell in the consolation championship at the Effingham-Teutopolis Christmas Classic on Thursday evening, losing 68-60 to Champaign Centennial.
The Dukes (9-5) led 18-10 after one quarter, then 36-29 by halftime. Centennial cut its deficit to 47-44 through three quarters, then outscored Dixon 24-13 in the fourth quarter.
All-tournament selection Jacob Gaither led Dixon with 30 points, hitting four 3-pointers. Riley Abell added five 3s and 25 points.
Trae Warren had 18 points for Centennial, with Jalen Coleman scoring 13 and David Hubbard adding 10.
Warkins Memorial Classic
Fulton 52, Riverdale 43: The Steamers jumped out to an 11-1 lead, led 15-6 after one quarter, then pulled away with a 20-13 scoring edge in the fourth period to win the championship at the Warkins Memorial Classic in Erie.
Ethan Price scored 16 of his 19 points in the second half to lead Fulton (15-1), and all-tournament pick Baylen Damhoff finished with 14 points. Jacob Jones and Patrick Lower both scored seven for the Steamers.
Brandon Stone, who was named the tournament MVP, led the Rams with a game-high 20 points.
Newman 65, Beecher 53: The Comets won the third-place game in Erie, pulling away in a close contest by outscoring Beecher 23-15 in the fourth quarter.
Lucas Simpson scored 18 points, and all-tournament pick Marcus Williams finished with 15 for Newman (7-6), which led 12-8 after one quarter, 23-20 at halftime, and 42-38 through three periods. Ayden Batten and Owen McBride added eight points each, Nolan Britt scored seven, and Ethan Van Landuit chipped in six.
Duane Doss, an all-tournament selection, poured in 26 points for Beecher, while Mitchell Landis scored 13 and Christopher DeFrank added 12.
Erie-Prophetstown 53, Mercer County 39: The Panthers won their finale at their home tournament, leading 17-6 after one quarter, then pulling away from a 40-36 lead through three periods with a 13-3 run in the fourth.
All-tournament pick Kolby Franks led Erie-Prophetstown with 18 points, while Austin Cole scored 13 and Caleb Naftzger added nine.
Owen Relander, who joined Franks on the all-tournament team, scored 18 points to pace the Golden Eagles.
Stockton 45, Morrison 44: The Mustangs mounted a comeback in the fourth quarter, but fell short against the Blackhawks in Erie.
Alex Anderson had 13 points, and Trey Strating scored 10 for Morrison, which trailed 13-12 at halftime and 33-25 heading into the final period. Andre McQueen added eight points, and Danny Mouw scored six.
All-tournament selection Ian Broshous poured in 24 points to lead Stockton.
Orion 55, Amboy 45: The Clippers fell in their finale in Erie, as they were outscored 17-9 in the first quarter and 14-7 in the fourth.
Brennan Blaine finished with 20 points, and Connor Simpson scored 14 for Amboy, which got within 41-38 heading into the fourth quarter. Tucker Lindenmeyer added eight points.
Chance Stropes, an all-tournament pick, led the Chargers with 27 points.

Eastland Holiday Tournament
Pecatonica 52, Eastland 40: The Cougars lost the third-place game at their own tournament, falling behind 17-6 after the first quarter and never catching up.
All-tournament selection Kellen Henze poured in 25 points for Eastland, which trailed 30-21 at halftime and 36-27 through three periods.
Bryce Fitzanko and Kelton Gann both scored 14 points to pace Pec, which had Trent Hetland and Hunter Hoffman named to the all-tournament team.
Forreston 74, West Carroll 19: The Cardinals cruised past the Thunder in their finale in Lanark, jumping out to a 25-4 lead in the first quarter and never looking back.
Owen Greenfield had 20 points, five rebounds and four steals, and Cole Becker finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds for Forreston, which came out after halftime and outscored West Carroll 20-0 in the third quarter. Payton Encheff added 10 points and five steals, Dylan Greenfield scored eight points, and Brock Smith dished five assists.
Garrett Law and A.J. Boardman both scored seven points for the Thunder.

Faith Christian splits at tournament: The Falcons used a balanced effort to beat Christian Liberty Academy, but they lost to Calumet Christian.
In a 66-39 win over Christian Liberty Academy, Levi Schuler had 19 points, 12 rebounds and five assists, Isaiah Schuler added 17 points and eight rebounds, and Caleb Rydzinsky finished with 16 points and four assists for Faith. Collin Kibble chipped in nine points, six rebounds and six assists.
The Falcons lost to Calumet Christian 67-61. Rydzinski had 21 points and nine rebounds, Isaiah Schuler scored 15 points, and Levi Schuler added 13 points, 10 rebounds and five steals. Kibble chipped in six points, eight rebounds and five assists, and Brendan Peterson finished with five points and 11 rebounds.
Stillman Valley 75, AFC 38: The Raiders fell behind 22-9 in the first quarter and never recovered in a nonconference loss on the road.
Lane Koning finished with 15 points, and Carson Rueff scored seven for AFC.
Evan Davidson had 20 points for Stillman Valley, which scored 24 points in the second quarter and 23 more in the third. Owen Dunseth added 12 points, and Brett Pierce chipped in 10 as 12 different Cardinals scored.

Warkins Memorial Classic
Morrison 46, Mercer County 29: The Fillies led the whole way to win the third-place game in Erie.
Jordan Eads and Shelby Veltrop both scored 11 points to lead Morrison, which led 11-6 after one quarter, 21-12 by halftime, and 29-18 through three periods. Shelby Veltrop also had seven rebounds, four steals, two assists and two blocks, and Camryn Veltrop added eight points, eight rebounds and four assists. Bayleigh Brewer chipped in seven points, three assists and three steals, Diana Robbins had five points and seven rebounds, and Kendra Fisher finished with four points, four rebounds and four assists. The Veltrops were both named to the all-tournament team.
Kiersten Cox, who was also an all-tournament pick, had eight points to lead Mercer County, while Ava Ruggles scored seven and Gracie Fisher finished with six.
Rockridge defeated Monmouth-Roseville 42-29 to win the title. All-tournament selections Kierney McDonald (12 points) and Madison Heisch (10) led the Rockets, while tourney MVP Mattie Gillen (7 points) and Brianna Woodard (7) paced the Titans; all-tournament pick Camryn Huston scored six.
Erie-Prophetstown 34, Bureau Valley 24: The Panthers used an 11-4 scoring run in the fourth quarter to pull away from BV and win their finale at their own tournament.
All-tournament selection Kennedy Buck finished with 15 points for E-P, and Olivia Purvis added eight.
Ashley Nordstrom led the Storm with nine points.
