ROCK FALLS – Lucas Hacker, a senior, is Rock Falls High School student of the month for December. He is the son of Kyle and Amanda Hacker and has a sister, Greta.
What class do you find really engaging and why?: One class that I have felt engaged in is the CEO program through WACC. I have had the chance to speak with lots of great business owners and people throughout the community. I also really enjoy economics taught by Mr. Truesdell at Rock Falls High School. Both of these classes stand out to me because I will major in business administration in college.
What are your career and post-graduation plans? What school(s) or other instruction, travel or endeavors do you have planned?: I will be attending Illinois State University, where I will be studying business administration. I hope to then get a job as a financial adviser once I graduate.
Please share a moment, group event or activity at school that was meaningful or memorable: One moment that stood out to me was when my CEO class and I had a team-building activity called the “Acid River.” We had to get across the room on only four wooden blocks and we failed. I enjoyed this moment because every failure or loss is a lesson to learn from.
What is your hope for the future?: I hope to have a successful career in finance and to have a great healthy family when I am older.
