Lee County Council on Aging receives $5,000 grant for accessible flooring

DIXON — The Lee County Council on Aging has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Do It Best Foundation to improve accessibility at the senior center.

This grant will be used to install new, safe flooring in critical areas of the facility, addressing existing trip hazards and ensuring a safer environment for seniors and visitors.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Do It Best Foundation for their support,” said Susie Welch, executive director of LCCOA. “This project is a significant step in making our center more accessible and welcoming for everyone.”

The LCCOA remains committed to providing a safe, inclusive space for the community, she said. Updates on the flooring project will be shared as work progresses.
