Education notes: Dixon, Rock Falls, Sterling students earn dean’s list honors

RIPON, Wis. – Amboy resident Abigayle Payne recently was named to the Ripon College dean’s list for the fall semester.

Payne is double majoring in exercise science – physical education and exercise science – PE and health, with an adapted physical education minor.

The list honors students who earned a grade-point average of 3.4 or higher. The students also must have completed 12 regular letter-graded work credits.

Dixon student named to Lewis University dean’s list

ROMEOVILLE – Dixon resident Kaitlyn Knipple recently was named to Lewis University’s dean’s list for the fall 2024 semester.

The university named 1,700 students to the dean’s list.

The list honors students with a semester GPA average of 3.5 or higher. The students also must have completed at least 12 credit hours with no D or F grades. Knipple is majoring in secondary education.

Rock Falls student named to University of Maryland Global Campus dean’s list

ADELPHI – Rock Falls resident Paige McKinney recently was named to the University of Maryland Global Campus dean’s list for the fall 2024 semester.

The dean’s list honors students with a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

McKinney completed at least six credits. A cumulative GPA of 3.5 also had to be maintained.

Kayleigh Thomas graduates from UW-Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Wis. – Kayleigh Thomas of Dixon earned a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at winter commencement.

About 630 students crossed the stage to receive their degrees at the ceremony at Kachel Fieldhouse in the Williams Center.

Thomas graduated with a marketing degree.

Peterson named to Mississippi State University’s fall president’s list

STERLING — Brecken Peterson of Sterling was named to the Mississippi State University fall president’s list.

Peterson is among 4,569 students who have attained this honor. Students on the president’s list achieved a 3.80 or better GPA, based on a 4.0 scale, while completing at least 12 semester hours of coursework with no incomplete grades or grades lower than a C.

Local students on Milwaukee School of Engineering fall dean’s list

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee School of Engineering is congratulating students named to the fall semester dean’s list. The following local students were named to the list:

  • Joshua Howard of Rock Falls. Howard is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering.
  • Jadyn Osborne of Sterling. Osborne is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering.
  • Raul Reyes of Sterling. Reyes is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering.
  • Kennedy Sallee of Oregon. Sallee is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in finance.
  • Aidan Schneider of Milwaukee. Schneider is pursuing a Master of Science in machine learning.
  • Avery VanOosten of Sterling. VanOosten is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in nursing.
  • Ethan Whyte of Milwaukee. Whyte is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering.

UW-Oshkosh fall 2024 dean’s list, honor roll released

OSHKOSH, Wis. – University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh officials have released the names of students who qualified for the dean’s list and honor roll in fall 2024 across its Oshkosh and Fox Cities campuses.

The term grade-point average requirement for University Honor Roll is 3.3; the term GPA requirement for dean’s list is 3.75, out of a possible 4.0.

Local students named to the lists include:

  • Byron: Anika Roush, honor roll
  • Oregon: Grace Kultgen, dean’s list
  • Sterling: Payton Purdy, honor roll
  • Stillman Valley: Nolan Swenson, dean’s list

Heier named to Quincy University dean’s list

QUINCY, Ill. — Quincy University released its dean’s list for the fall 2024 semester.

Daxtun Heier of Sterling was named to the list.

Honorees must earn a semester grade-point average of at least 3.5 to be included in the biannual dean’s list. In total, 416 students received the honor during the semester.
