A Rock Falls High School athlete who suffered a broken neck that left him partially paralyzed during a March 15 track meet has filed a lawsuit against Sterling’s park district, the Sterling School District and Rock Falls High School District in connection with the injury.
Less than a month after he was sentenced to probation in Lee County on a felony weapons charge, a Dixon man has been charged in Whiteside County with felony weapon and drug offenses.
The ban was approved by the Illinois legislature in January 2023. It bans the sale, purchase and manufacturing of firearms that the legislature defined as “assault weapons,” such as AR-15-style rifles.
