Ohio woman charged in Lee County with dealing meth

DIXON – A 36-year-old Bureau County woman is charged in Lee County court with dealing methamphetamine.

Eva K. Hopson, of Ohio was pulled over Saturday in the area of Bloody Gulch Road at Pump Factory Road in Dixon. During the traffic stop, officers found methamphetamine and items used in drug sales sales, Dixon police said in a news release.

Hopson is charged with delivery of less than 5 grams of meth, punishable by 3 to 7 years in prison; possession of less than 5 grams of meth, punishable by 2 to 5 years, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a marijuana pipe, a misdemeanor.

She posted $1,000 of her $10,000 bond on Tuesday and has a pretrial conference May 19.

Hopson was convicted in April 2013 in Bureau County court of delivery of a controlled substance, prescription pills, and was sentenced to 5 years’ probation.
