Clear skies in Independence Day forecast

The Green River flows swiftly past as it winds through southern Lee County on Wednesday, June 30, 2019. About 0.71 of an inch of precipitation fell in the three days, according to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities. The forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms south of the I-88 corridor. The National Weather Service Independence Day weekend forecast for the Sauk Valley calls for clear skies starting Thursday night. It will stay clear through Independence Day on Sunday.

Daytime temps will be in the 70s on Friday, and in the 80s on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday night it will be mostly clear in the evening with a low around 66.

It will remain mostly cloudy for the remainder of Wednesday with a high near 83. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms, mostly for the area south of the I-88 corridor.
