Oliver’s Saturday cookout to benefit Dixon Veterans Memorial Park

DIXON - The Dixon Veterans Memorial Park will be having a cookout fundraiser at Oliver’s Corner Market Saturday.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Oliver’s, 748 N. Brinton Ave., and they will be grilling hamburgers, pork chop sandwiches, hotdogs and brats.

Veterans Memorial Park has been working to convert the former Ron’s Automotive next to the park into a museum.

The building will house a museum showcasing military equipment, uniforms and artifacts, and there also will be space for an office and a workshop/meeting area.
