Repairs to the bridge carrying state Route 84 over Cedar Creek, north of Albany and south of Garden Plain Road in Whiteside County, begin Monday.
The northbound lane will be closed for bridge shoulder repairs. One lane of traffic will be maintained and controlled with signals. Work is expected to be completed by Aug. 30, the Illinois Department of Transportation said.
In Carroll County, work has begun on the bridge carrying state Route 84 over the Soo Line Railroad, just south of U.S. Route 52 and state Route 64 in Savanna.
Workers are replacing bridge expansion joints and improving the pavement approaches. Traffic will be reduced to one lane using temporary traffic signals during the $187,000 project, which is expected to be completed by the end of September, IDOT said.
Motorists are advised to avoid the areas if possible, otherwise, expect delays.
