Dixon Founder’s Day to feature ‘fire and brimstone’ preacher

DIXON - The annual Founder’s Day historic presentation is back this year, and it will highlight the impact of a revivalist preacher who drew 150,000 people to Dixon.

Billy Sunday brought hordes to Dixon during a revival in 1905.

Local historian Tom Wadsworth will present the Founder’s Day program “Fire & Brimstone: How Billy Sunday’s Historic 1905 Revival Brought 150,000 People to Dixon” at 6:30 p.m. April 11 at Loveland Community House and Museum, 513 W. Second St. Doors open at 6 p.m.; admission is free.

The event is organized by Dixon Chamber of Commerce and Main Street.
