Dixon High School releases January student hall of fame

DIXON – Jenica Puenta and Maddie VanOosten were named the Elks Teens of the month for January, selected from that months student hall of fame at Dixon High School.

Puenta was selected by the business department while VanOosten was elected by the English department.

Other January hall of fame selections by department included: Jessica VonderSmith in art, Alex Basilio in driver’s ed, Jenna Cibu in family resources, Meghan Huffman in foreign language, Ben Oros in health, John Godbold in industrial arts, Morgyn Bailey in math, Cecilia Hartman in music, Joey Apple in PE, David Laird in science, and Jacob Nag and Daven Whaley in social studies.

Students are selected monthly from the schools various departments based on displaying one or more of the following characteristics: consistent hard work and effort, outstanding attitude toward the subject, leadership, and class participation.
