2022 Election Primary: Illinois Senate 35th District

These are the unofficial election results for contested races across McHenry County as of about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The incumbent is leading in one of two contested legislative primaries in McHenry County while just 64 votes, or less than a percentage point, separated the Republican candidates in the race for the 66th House District.

Competitive races line both the Democratic and Republican ballots as early voting continues ahead of Tuesday’s primary election. Here's a round-up of who and what is on the ballot.

Republican candidates up and down the ticket will attend a forum hosted by the McHenry County Township Republicans this Saturday.

An incumbent with over 30 years of experience in the Illinois General Assembly will face off against a self-described “baby” compared to other politicians for the Republican nomination in the 35th Illinois Senate District.

The candidates are incumbent Dave Syverson of Cherry Valley and newcomer Eli Nicolosi of Rockford. The winner of the June primary will go on to the November election, in which no other candidates have filed so far.
