What is a top issue for the school district? Leslie LaMarca: Navigating and protecting our students from the abhorrently harmful ramifications of the ill-conceived and recklessly enacted “proclamations” by the new national administration

Patrick Malia on a top issue in the district: The biggest issue the District is facing right now is the new developments that are being constructed and how that will cause multiple schools to become overcrowded

Should students be able to use AI in schoolwork? Alisa Lindmark: I think there is a time and place for AI, but in creating critical thinkers it offers very little

Should students be able to use AI in schoolwork? Christine Birkett: Before we allow students to use AI for schoolwork, guardrails need to be in place to ensure that AI is used as an enhancement to learning - not a replacement

Emmanuel Thomas: Balancing class sizes and current teaching staff is important. There should be no more than 12-16 students per teacher unless the teacher has an assistant.

Aaron Kelly on a top issue for the district: Teacher shortages are a national concern, and District 300 is no different. At the time I filled out this questionnaire, there were 106 open positions in the District, roughly 69 of which were for educators and paraprofessionals
