Robert Kasper: In short, while my personal opinion comes down on the side of removing the dam, I believe that my role on City Council would be to evaluate the evidence on all sides, as well as to best represent the interests of my constituents

Ronald Silkaitis, St. Charles City Council candidate: The city must consider all possible options concerning the decision to remove the dam or keep the dam

Paul Lencioni: I strongly believe that keeping the St. Charles dam intact is essential to our community and aligns with responsible environmental management

Is keeping the dam important to you? Why? Vicki Spellman: Keeping the dam is important to me and many residents in my ward and throughout St. Charles.

Carolyn Waibel: The facts are we do not have any specific ecological data to prove the removal of the dam is necessary for the betterment of the health of the Fox River and its ecosystem

Ryan Bongard: The number one issue facing Ward 2, in terms of public safety, is the increase in traffic throughout our neighborhoods

Angela Churchill: Public safety should remain a top priority for our community, particularly regarding vehicles speeding in residential and school areas where the Police Department can implement traffic calming measures for added safety

Lauren Duddles, St. Charles City Council candidate: I would like to see Saint Charles become more walkable and bikeable, and improve accessibility. I would like to have alternative transportation available

Steve Weber, St. Charles City Council candidate, on keeping the dam: I am not in favor of removing it unless someone can show how it would improve the quality of life for all of St. Charles residents
