The construction consisted of a new, mile-long road between Ridge and Steiner roads to redirect traffic - especially commercial vehicles – away from Plainfield’s downtown corridor as well as improve travel times to the western portion of Plainfield.

Joliet is spending $400,000 for a program aimed at increasing the availability of mental health care in the city.

Up to $29 million from the American Rescue Plan could be available to small units of government and non-profit organizations later this year

“My goal was the first money that we get we can hand it to those groups that are based here and working out of here,” said County Board Vice Chairman Matt Kellogg. Exactly how much of the county’s $25 million stimulus will go towards non-profits is still undetermined.
