At Saturday’s 35th annual Coach Kipp’s Hoopfest at Nazareth Academy, Batavia blitzed Rolling Meadows with a pressure defense that forced 12 turnovers in the first quarter alone and 19 in the half. Batavia went on to win 55-29.

After leading by as many as 12 points, Glenbard North's defense stood tall in the final two minutes of play while sophomore Oturo Redento sank two layups to help the Panthers hold off Batavia in a 46-42 victory.

Despite moving up two weight classes, junior Dom Munaretto managed to set the tone with a 21-6 technical fall victory over Jack Duraski to help St. Charles East defeat Batavia 60-12.

In the New Years Classic Tournament, Batavia's Hallie Crane led the Bulldogs with 17 points against Westminster Academy (Florida) and a career-high 30 points against Doral Academy (Florida). Crane was selected as the Kane County Chronicle's Athlete of the Week in an online vote.

Sofia O’Sullivan scored eight of her game-high 15 points in the fourth quarter as St. Charles East beat Batavia 43-37 to stay unbeaten in the DuKane Conference.
