Dan Aykroyd says Blues Brothers movie was about "cultural preservation," loves to see new generations discover the music and film

Four blues bands will be performing at Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park in Joliet from 3 to 10 p.m. on Saturday.

On July 26, the museum will welcome blues legend John Primer & The Real Deal Blues Band to its rooftop stage.

Aurora’s Blues on the Fox Festival returns June 14 and 15 to RiverEdge Park, set along the Fox River.

The Joliet Area Historical Museum said on its Facebook page that Blues Brothers Con would close at 4 p.m. Saturday “for the safety and well being of our guests, performers, and staff.”

Dan Aykroyd and James Belushi will perform as “Elwood” and “Brother Zee” in a 90-minute performance at 9:30 p.m. Friday.

The 16-acre Old Joliet Prison will be transformed into a total Blues Brothers experience for the inaugural Blues Brothers Con on Aug. 19 and Aug. 20.

The three-day Blues & Brews festival from June 10 to 12 offers regional and national acts, six of which will perform at the Chicago Blues Festival.

Meagan McNeil, who performed on "The Voice" television show, will be among the artists.

Dan Navarro and The Cash Box Kings are among the eclectic lineup of artists headed to The Venue's stage in Aurora.
