Owen Cravens, an Algonquin resident and Huntley High School graduate, will make be making his Paralympics debut Monday.

Evan Jager, a 2007 Jacobs graduate, finished fourth in the USA Track and Field Olympic Trials on Sunday night in Eugene, Oregon. Normally, the top three runners make the Olympic team, but Jager may have a shot because of his world ranking to still make Team USA.

Hinsdale Central senior and Duke recruit Aden Bandukwala, who won the Class 3A 800-meter run and anchored the second-place 4x400 relay to finish his career with seven All-State medals, is the Suburban Life boys track and field Athlete of the Year.

St. Charles North junior pole vaulter Nathan McLoughlin won all but two outdoor meets and cleared 4.80 meters for the school record and a fourth place finish at the state championships. He was named the Kane County Chronicle Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year.

Princeton senior Payne Miller is the 2024 NewsTribune Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year after placing third in the Class 2A shot put and also qualifying for state in the discus.

After 19 seasons as head coach, Dan Foes is retiring as the head boys track and field coach at Princeton. He won two sectional championships, two Three Rivers Conference championships and had a state qualifier every year.
