Free food and free haircuts will be offered at a youth empowerment fair on Nov. 16 at Second Baptist Church in Joliet. The fair is meant to prepare youths for college.

Joliet Township High School District 204 will host a community resource fair open to everyone from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at Joliet Central High School.

Wednesday is Family Day at the Will County Fair. Admission is $1 per person. Carnival rides are $1 per ride per person.

Friday night's downpour made the track especially muddy for the Whiteside County Fair's demolition derby, but that didn't deter fans from packing the grandstand and surrounding bleachers on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024. Eighty-four vehicles battled through the mud to compete in four class divisions: Bone Stock, Mini Vans, Pro Stock, and Open Wire.
