Illinois House District 70

The Sycamore Republican who was the focus of an assassination threat this summer said he didn’t want that to deter him from serving residents.

Two DeKalb County residents will compete at the ballot box this fall, as both are vying for the Illinois House 70th District seat in the Illinois House of Representatives.

State. Rep. Jeff Keicher, R-Sycamore, was appointed this week to serve on the Illinois Human Trafficking Task Force in Springfield, according to a news release from the legislator’s office.

The list of candidates for next year’s elections began to take shape this week. On the ballot next year are countywide offices, two county-level judicial vacancies and seats on the McHenry County Board and in the Illinois House and Congress.

A bill that would prohibit third-party delivery services such as Uber Eats or DoorDash from partnering with a restaurant without the business’ permission is heading to the governor’s office for approval.
