Fat Tuesday is known by many names – the day before Ash Wednesday, Mardi Gras, Shrove Tuesday, or as Ken Elleson, owner of Elleson’s bakery in downtown Sycamore, calls it fondly: Paczki Day. “It’s going to be an 18-hour day,” Elleson said.
For those unable to attend the services, “Ashes to Go” will be held in front of the church in Sycamore.
A supper will be served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. prior to the 7 p.m. service.
