National Night Out

Mt. Morris’ National Night Out event ran from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, near the Mt. Morris College campus in the village’s downtown.

National Night Out took place Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, at Petersen Park in McHenry. This year's event featured officers from the McHenry County Sheriff's Department, McHenry County Conservation District, and the Johnsburg and McHenry police departments, along with firefighters, public works, games, face-painting, K-9 and motorcycle demonstrations, food and family fun.

The Dixon and Rock Falls police departments held a National Night Out event Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024. National Night Out is meant to promote police and community partnerships.

National Night Out events are taking place around McHenry County over the next few days.

Spring Valley’s National Night Out event will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1 at Kirby Park. In the event of rain or bad weather, the event will be at Hall High School gymnasium, 800 W. Erie St.

Each location will feature activities for children, an opportunity to view police cars and fire trucks, and a chance to meet and interact with local first responders.
